FAQS

Do we need planning permission?

Cabins sited for more than 28 days may require planning permission. However, they are a portable structure and we advise that you speak to your local planning office before placing an order. It is the hirer’s responsibility to organise any required planning permission.

Can units double stack?

Our units are physically capable of being double stacked. However, building regulations require a six-metre gap between double-stacked units and adjacent buildings. This gap is mandated to comply with fire safety and access regulations. Consequently, double stacking does not actually save space on site. Other factors, such as stability, structural integrity, and safety concerns, further limit the practicality of double stacking our units.

Is insurance included in the hire rate?

Insurance is not included in the hire rate. As part of our standard terms and conditions, it is the hirer’s responsibility to arrange insurance at 200 times the weekly hire rate.

Will I get charged for cleaning?

Our guiding principle is to ‘treat customers how we would want to be treated’. The hire industry has gained a reputation for dishing out end-of-hire cleaning/damage charges. Often, these charges are routinely generated to make up for unsuitably low hire rates. We are different. We don’t expect the unit to come back spotless and understand there will be some wear and tear. We will charge for damage but we’re sure you’ll agree that is only fair.

Will they run off a generator?

Yes, all of our units can run off a generator. Our units, including the Junior Diner, are designed with compatibility and flexibility in mind, featuring a 240V 63A Ceeform 2P+E Blue Plug for power connections. This setup allows them to be easily connected to a generator, making them suitable for use in remote locations or sites without direct access to mains electricity.

Can the delivery vehicle run on grass?

Under no circumstances should a wagon drive over grass, Murphy’s Law states that if the ground is hard during delivery it will be a muddy bog when the unit needs to be collected. Any wasted journeys will be charged at full rate.

Do we need steps?

Unless you're using one of our waste tanks, steps will not be needed. Waste tanks raise the unit's height by about 400mm, necessitating steps for easy access. If steps are required, we can supply a suitable set, or you are welcome to use your own. This flexibility allows you to manage access to the units according to your site's specific needs, ensuring safety and convenience for all users.

Are they available for sale?

We operate exclusively as a hire company, manufacturing all of our units in our purpose-built factory. This allows us to maintain strict quality control and design standards. When our units reach the end of their lifecycle, we responsibly recycle them to minimise environmental impact. Our approach ensures that every unit meets our high standards for performance and sustainability, providing reliable and eco-friendly solutions for your portable accommodation needs.

What is the minimum hire period?

You can hire units for just one day if needed; however, our minimum charge covers a four-week hire period. This fee accounts for the costs associated with cleaning and testing the unit to guarantee it is ready for the next use. This policy allows us to maintain the high standards of quality and reliability that our customers expect.

How much notice for delivery?

We can typically deliver within a week’s notice but strive to accommodate shorter timeframes whenever possible. However, during peak periods such as festival season, our inventory may be fully booked due to high demand. To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend booking as early as possible, especially for large events or busy seasons.
