Coronavirus: A Message to Our Customers

In light of recent events, many businesses are taking steps to remain open and available to customers - and Bunkabin is no different. Here we explain how we will continue to operate while protecting our employees and customers, including a look at some of the work we’ve been doing to help those tackling the pandemic.

Bunkabin will remain open for business and dedicated to assisting companies and residents with their accommodation needs throughout Great Britain. Unfortunately, we cannot host any site visits other than deliveries, but the office is open and contactable by telephone and emails as normal.

We are monitoring all staff temperatures before work, have hand cleaning stations by each workstation and have the canteen, toilets, doors and other frequent touchpoints cleaned several times a day.

With the situation constantly changing, we have been working hard to ensure we remain open to support the unprecedented demand from healthcare providers, the government and other essential services across the UK.

So far, we have been supporting the NHS and other organisations by providing units to several hospitals across the country, as well as more than 600 units to HM Prison Service to support their ability to ensure social distancing.

In addition, we have been providing support to the local community during these difficult times by donating rental vehicles to local volunteers who are providing the elderly with services, such as dropping off shopping and other supplies.

We have also joined forces with a network of event organisers and suppliers in the north west to assist with requests from the NHS, local government, charities and other organisations that need support right now. The group includes suppliers that have access to the following:

  • Generators
  • Furniture
  • Communications equipment
  • Tents and marquees
  • Outdoor and indoor lighting
  • Vehicles
  • Staging equipment
  • Medical and ambulance supplies
  • Heating equipment
  • Venue dressing

The group can also provide services relating to security, medical, AV engineering, traffic management, project management, freelancing networks, transportation and volunteer management, as well as many others.

Since launch, Events 4 COVID-19 has begun or completed work on more than 20 projects. Together with IQ Student Accommodation, Bunkabin donated 19 beds, 27 pillows, duvets and linen, which were delivered by ExcluSec Group to a women-only refuge project by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees, customers and the general public is and will always be a number one priority. We will continue to review our response to the coronavirus pandemic in line with government guidelines, and are regularly assessing the situation to ensure we are operating in the safest possible way.
